RenewableUK Cymru has welcomed the news that Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon has been named in the UK Government’s National Infrastructure Plan.
Dr David Clubb, Director of RenewableUK Cymru, said:
“Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon has the potential to be a ground-breaking energy project and could pave the way for similar projects around the world. As well as providing a reliable source of clean energy, it will also create jobs and support the local community for many years to come.
“It is only right its significance has been recognised in the National Infrastructure Plan and we look forward with hope and anticipation to a positive decision from the Planning Inspectorate in spring of next year.”
